A neurosurgeon’s training is long by design. After medical school at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, Dr Gupta completed the MCh in Neurosurgery at NIMHANS, Bengaluru, then stayed on as Senior Resident in one of the busiest neurosurgical departments in the country.

He went on to teach as Assistant Professor and Consultant Neurosurgeon at Santosh Medical College and Hospital, and to a research fellowship in cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery at the Arkansas Neuroscience Institute in Little Rock, USA, alongside workshops in skull base and microneurosurgery.
